Though just 32, Donovan Richards has already worked in city government for 12 years, beginning as an intern under then-City Council Member James Sanders, for whom he worked his way up to chief of staff. Marc Holliday and 11 Madison Avenue in the Flatiron District

The ratings drop comes as the ink has yet to fully dry on SL Green’s colossal $2.6 billion acquisition of 11 Madison Avenue from the Sapir Organization and CIM Group. (more…)

Marquette U. Poll of Wisconsinites: 39% approve of job Walker is doing as Guv, 57% disapprove

The most significant bit of news in this poll, in my opinion, is the fact that Wisconsinites are taking a dim view of Scott Walker’s performance. His 39% “job approval” rating is down 2 points from where it was in April when 41% approved of his performance as Governor. Walker’s doing much worse than Obama more »

Rush helps raise over $25,000 for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation

As we'd first learned back in June, Neil Peart's Commemorative Hockey Drum Kit was on display at all 5 Canadian dates on Rush's R40 Live tour, and fans were given the opportunity to sit behind the kit with a $10 donation to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. In addition to the hockey kit fundraiser, there was an associated eBay auction where fans were able to bid on some autographed Rush memorabilia including a Sabian Paragon Cymbal and a limited edition, DW R40 Icon Snare. Drum Workshop announced via a tweet a couple of weeks ago that donations from the hockey kit photo ops along with the money raised from the online auction raised a total of $25,547.28 CDN. The director of public relations for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Kevin Shea, released the following statement via Brave Words last week:

From the archives: Strange and true broker stories

Real-Estate-Brokers

From the first showing to the final closing, every apartment sale has a story, and some of them are real jaw-droppers.

The real estate attorney with a sideline in kidnapping. The tranquilized dog. (Don’t worry, it’ll all be clear below.) From farce to tragedy, there are a million real estate stories in the naked city, and The Real Deal has collected a few memorable ones.
